Wash your hands with hand soap and water.

Make certain that all kitchen utensils and tools are clean

Be cautious with the knife. Curl your fingers back away from the knife when holding what             you are cutting.

Never lick a knife.

Do not lick your fingers without washing your hands instantly after licking.

Never lick any kitchen utensil without washing it instantly before using it again.

Ingredients / Shopping List
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ cup Flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1½ cups rolled oats/oatmeal
  • raisins
Instructions
Directions/Method for Oatmeal Cookies - easy from scratch
Preheat the oven to 350F/170C degrees
  1. Add ½ cup/125 ml brown sugar and ½ cup/125 ml white sugar in the mixing bowl and stir together
  2. Add ½ cup/125 ml butter to the sugar and mix in
  3. Add the egg and stir in
  4. Add 1 teaspoon/5 ml of vanilla and stir in
    The wet ingredients are ready
  5. Sift ¾ cup/185 ml flour into a clean bowl
  6. Sprinkle ¾ teaspoon/2.7ml baking soda over the sifted flour
  7. Add a pinch of salt
  8. Add ¾ teaspoon/2.7 ml cinnamon to dry ingredients
  9. Add 1½ cups/375 ml rolled oats/oatmeal
    Stir all the dry ingredients together
  10. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients while stirring together
  11. Spoon the ingredients the size of the cookies you desire onto the parchment paper - leave space for cookies to expand/flatten out
  12. Place in oven and set timer for approximately 10-12 minutes
  13. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack.
  14. Serve when cooled.

Add chocolate chips, ginger, chopped nuts of choice
Note: always ask your guests if they have an allergies to nuts.

Dish soap, Dishtowels, Kitchen Sponge/Cloth
1. Wash all the kitchen utensils/tools and put them away in the proper cupboard.
2. Put ingredients back into the proper cupboards.
3. Wipe down the counter-top with soap and water.
